The wave El Gringo is about 35 minutes from the Arica Surf House and is located at the end of a man made breakwall. Majority of the time we are walking but you could also drive, ride a bike or catch a cab, as all the taxi drivers know where it is. It is relatively cheap to catch a cab but if you are doing it everyday, twice a day it can become very expensive so i suggest a bike or walking.
One of the things is that the waves are powerful and the rocks have so many sea urchins on them that they actually look black. It would be a good idea to bring some needles to dig them out and some tweezers to assist. The water temperature is not bad, +- 15 deg C but it is advised that you wear a full suit because of the rocks especially if you like your lefts.
